Middle East
•How do you say WOW in Arabic? Just scrolling through your blog before I set out makes me want to say that. Beautiful design invites me to travel.
•Words and Phrases: above and beyond
•Flight: Awesome map
•Middle East Things to Do: lots of tempting things to do...places to go
•! Great list. Let's go.
•Day 1: Socotra Islands...enjoying gravity, birds and bird poop...fun description of boat ride, hike and the incredible view from the top...amazing photo
Day 2: Lots of sunscreen-good...Ameera...a dramatic dip...were you scared of nighttime noises? What an adventure? I feel like I am following Indiana Jones or Alice in Yemenland. Another incredible photo.
Day 3: I think you say Yemenis...CRAZY and rescued...I bet the museum was boring after that night...broken statues???!!! even with golden arches, the museum does NOT sound like your kind of place.
Day 4: The Mosque...no, the castle... pretty incredible looking and sounding place...snow globe sounds pretty silly, a sand globe sounds more like it.
Day 5:I think you mislabeled this...delicious link (meaty too)...Fun day...I would love a photo of the Bannerfish and the bint al-sahn.
Day 6:The Big Crater...sounds like a pretty breathtaking place...great photo
Day 7:The market...meat testers-even in Yemen...glad you found the right gift for your mom
Maddy, it sure is fun traveling with you. I don't think Yemen will be quite the same after your visit. You left me breathless often with your crazy adventure. Thanks for all the fun and detail. My only suggestion is to use the word poop sparingly so it is effective when you need it. I am excited for our travels ahead and sad that we only have 8 weeks to go.
One word. Amazing. i loved HOW you emphasized certain words. It felt almost LIKE you were reading IT to me. The way you described everything you did in such detail really brought the story alive. Once again. Amazing.
